On Tuesday at our school Toddler Group Harper, after painting a great piece of artwork, threw up all over the floor! After cleaning up we made a rapid trip home and poor Harper spent the afternoon being sick. We spent the following day indoors and by tea time I knew I was feeling not right and before long I also became very ill, unfortunately Mark was at a Parent's Evening at his school and was coming home late that evening - always the way! During the evening it went from bad to worse and I became so dehydrated that I passed out twice and had to be rescued by my husband. Mark contacted the Doctor, who faxed a prescription to a nearby pharmacy and thankfully before too long I had some anti-sickness tablets and some rehydration solution. It was a very drastic way of losing half a stone in weight in one evening and because of the dehydration the muscle cramps were really severe, it made me very thankful to have a husband to look after me especially as he was also having some symptoms himself, luckily less severe than mine.
Twenty four hours later it was Kofi's turn for a bout of gastro-enteritis and he suffered through the night and we made a camp bed for him in our room as it was nearer to the facilities! To add to the misery each night a few hours after Harper goes to sleep she has been throwing up in her bed (new bunk bed!) and the washing pile has been rather significant. I am hoping that none of the other three kids gets this as it is very unpleasant and we are creeping ever closer to our Disney holiday in Paris and I'm not sure I want to spend another ill holiday at Disney (Kofi had gastro-enteritis on our honeymoon at Disney, not the right reason for spending all the honeymoon in your room ;) ). Finger's crossed...this is not a week I care to repeat ever again!
